Dear Mr. President, I am becoming more and more concerned over the proposed bail-out of the Wall Street real estate debacle. I think Washington D.C. is going around a blind corner at warp speed.
Where does it say in the Constitution, you always get to make money when you speculate on real estate? I'm frustrated to see real estate speculators being bailed out. Why in the world should my tax dollars save these investors?
About ten years ago, our landlord was a local rental home investor. We paid $900 a month for a tiny house in rural Snohomish County. We listened to his tales of buying low and selling high, and marveled how he was able to easily get credit to keep buying more homes.
Then, we moved to a home closer to the I-5 corrider, and it was also owned by a bulk investor. This time, a group from California. The rent was $1,400 for an older, but larger home. They anticipated selling the home for at least a $100,000 profit over the next 24 months. Our mouths dropped open. |

Good News! The annual Seattle Premium Outlets Memorial day weekend sidewalk sale is this weekend, and several stores will be placing items on sale early for the keen shoppers now arriving in anticipation for another weekend of great prices on highly desireable designer and high fashion inventory.
Shannon Mayer, assistant manager of Le' Gourmet Chef, tells us, "Clearance items are already being marked down at our store, including several "buy one, get one free" selections including; ceramics, textiles, gourmet food items, and Halloween and Christmas seasonal items. We expect good weather just right for this sidewalk sale weekend." Of course, their famous gourmet samples will again be featured every day of the sale and beyond. |

Tall, silver luxury busliners swarm down Interstate 5 from Canada, depositing hundreds of eager Canadian shoppers each weekend outside the entrances of The Seattle Outlet Mall. The Interstate 5 exits north and south of the Mall are full by 10am each Saturday. Discriminating shoppers have discovered Snohomish County's newest shopping destination, and are coming back with more of their friends. What's the real attraction here? Just a few more Calvin Klein jeans, GAP sweaters, or Sony TV's? Something more is being found at this mall, and it's not for sale; it's free of charge.

One of the best places to live in Snohomish County, Marysville, WA boasts quick access to I-5 to all points north or south; to the next door city of Everett, or north to Mount Vernon, Anacortes, and Bellingham . New homes in Marysville are priced far below comparable homes located in nearby King County. I'm confident that after exploring our parks, churches, libraries, and local schools, you'll choose a Marysville area home first. We're simply the friendliest place to buy a home, shop, and raise a family. Marysville is home to the Marysville-Pilchuck High School Tomahawks, staffed with caring, excellent teachers, and outstanding office personnel serving 2,800+ students. After recently passing our local school district bond issue, we're looking forward to seeing the upgrades of the existing high school plus a new high school to accommodate all the new residents moving into our area. Another close by high school serving the nearby area is Lakewood High School, gathering students from the north edge of western Snohomish County, and northwest of the Smokey Point/Marysville area. This creates a great intramural sports rivalry that helps to showcase the great team spirit and talent Marysville-Tulalip and Lakewood High schools are known for. |
